Chess Club Monthly Newsletter
July 17, 2017

Hope your summer finds you swell...tering. If you're not off a groovy vacation please join us this Monday, July 17th at the College Park Library Building. Our four player matchups (Quads) are working out really well. Some movement on the four player match up standings with a new #2 member driving to be #1. For names, you will have to see our standings listed on the Winchesster website (www.WinChesster.com).

This Monday we will continue with our new projects including opening up the chess club library and adding a couple of new books to be signed out. There will be new problems put up for the Puzzle Master challenge. Please stick to either the New Player challenges or the experienced player challenges because there are prizes for both divisions to be given out at the time of the Pioneer Festival. The New Player division winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to Tasty Time. The Experienced Player division will receive a $10 gift certificate to Half-Price Books.

Also, plan on the four player match ups starting at 6:45 pm. This program has been providing some great games and we hope to continue tightening up the gaps between players by moving people around the standings.

Just a few housekeeping reminders

Doors open at 6:15pm (as soon as one of us can get there)
Please feel free to start games however remember that match play begins at 6:45 and we love all players to be on board (all puns on purpose)
Players who arrive after 6:45, we will absolutely get you in games however it may not be to the same skill level.
If you are playing in the four player match ups, please stay on the same table as it helps us keep track of games.
It has occurred to us that some of us play on chess.com. If you are a player on chess.com what would you think of sharing your chess.com player (handle) name with the club? Ideas are being shared about posting our first names and our chess club handle on the website to facilitate games outside of Mondays. We will take up a brief discussion on how to start this up and how to communicate before club play at 6:45.
